About this book
Eight months after burying her father, Kenza gets a phone call at six on a Sunday morning. The caller ID shows a name that should be impossible: Dad. From that startling moment, the story follows her into a mystery shaped by loss, family bonds, and the unsettling ways technology can echo the people no longer here.
Youssef Boukachabine brings together suspense and emotion in a compact novel that explores mourning alongside the deceptions machines can carry in familiar voices. At about 43,000 words told across 43 chapters, it offers a brisk, chapter-driven read with a premise that is both intimate and eerie.
