The Way Back
Do you like mystery books?
Do you like books written in multiple perspectives?
The Way Back follows the protagonist Gracie who returns home after being missing…
‘After being missing for two years, Gracie returns home with no memory of what has happened, where she’s been or her life before she left. With old memories and unfinished business, some of the people in Gracie’s life don’t quite believe her story. The truth differs through each pair of eyes and perspective is everything. But whose truth is the right one?
Read each person’s story and decide for yourself but remember, the damsel can’t always be in distress and anyone can be the villain in someone else’s story.
This is a story about life, friendship, love, grief and betrayal.’
Book Testimonials
“I really quite enjoyed the mystery in this book, as well as the subtle romance sub plot. The characters are very well developed and we really get to know them through the multiple POV the author used to approach this book.
The book was left on a cliffhanger so I am very excited to find out what happens next and it fills me with a lot of confidence that there is a lot of in depth suspense and mystery coming our way. Quite excited for the sequel if I am honest. I felt the book could have been wrapped up slightly nicer but overall that’s really just a side note, and this book really got me thinking.”
“Loved it! Great debut novel.”
“Wow, What a fabulous read! I loved it. Not my usual type of reading so I was surprised at how much I was gripped by the storyline.”
“It was brilliant. You follow the stories from each different character, reeling you in and keeping you hooked. Twists and turns throughout. Overall a brilliant book and a great read!”
About the Author
My name is Sophie and I am a self-published author and freelance editor and writer. Last year I published my debut novel The Way Back.
As an editor, I worked with a number of authors on their manuscript which inspired me to self-publish my own work. The Way Back had been a work in progress since I was 16. After working on a project for so long, I decided to chance my luck and see if there were any agents interested in my work. I was fully expecting rejections but after only a few responses and mostly radio silence from my submissions, I knew I needed to self-publish. The thought of The Way Back being stuck in a ‘sludge’ pile of unread manuscripts forever not only haunted me but I knew the protagonist of my story wouldn’t stand for that. It was a scary decision, but it was time to get it out into the world.
This is what led me to publishing my book.
